Summer of '69

The local TV programme is usually far from being remotely interesting (well, the news broadcast is quite o.k.), but this summer they're showing an interesting series of documentary films, feature films, etc. about the 60s: http://programm.orf.at/?story=4824 (in German).

edit, edit, ...

Editing my blog settings. Should post more things which actually make some sense, at least. Brooding over real life keeps me from it.

feminist literary blog

Our feminist literary blog which we decided to create at the Women's Spring University in Graz in April 2009 is in the making .... see http://fem-lit.blogspot.com/ - not much there to read yet, but soon. :-) Sorry, so far (almost) only in German.

new music

well, this lil' blog should not stay completely empty ... : so a few days ago I got Katharina Franck's new album On the Verge of an Autobiography which I had ordered a few days ago:

kf cover

1. San
2. Reckless reckless
3. Standing on the verge of an autobiography

4. Swallows song
5. One piece of the puzzle
6. In my mouth

7. We never blink
8. Lilac wine (Nina Simone Cover)
9. Things you must never lose
10. Last bus out
11. Wind was playing with my hair
12. Something in the way (Nirvana Cover)

Katharina Franck is a singer & songwriter from Germany who mostly sings in English. She is also known as the singer of the band Rainbirds who had a great hit song in 1987/88: "Blueprint" - which was popular in various European countries.

I think her music can be compared a bit to Shawn Colvin, Suzanne Vega and other female singer/songwriters of this kind. My favourites songs of hers are, for example, "San", "Reckless reckless", "Wind was playing with my hair", "Tree. Bird. Sky. Forgiveness" and "Something in the way" (Nirvana cover).

Hope you all had nice holidays :-)
